In my square I wanted to express Rene's passions and talents. The jean pocket represents Rene the man and the teacher. The spoon, artist's brush and feather tucked into the pocket, speak to his intimacy of gusto, art and nature. "I am asleep but my heart's awake" from the song of songs is a reference to his spiritual being.
