This quilt square was created with the hope that it would express visually my feelings that Rene was the main support of the CATA in the years that I knew him. Working on it reminded me of the strength, joy, professional expertise, hard work and good will that he brought to building our organization. Looking at it made me realize anew that I was fortunate to have known him, and to have had the opportunity to help him with this task. Along with this quit -- the CATA itself will be a memorial to his extraordinary zest for life, and belief in the worth of his chosen profession.
